Sending Secret Messages on BBM for Android: A Step-by-Step Guide

BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) has long been known for its secure messaging platform. Even though it's not limited to BlackBerry devices anymore, the security features are still top-notch. In this post, we will walk you through the process of sending secret messages on BBM using an Android smartphone.

Prerequisites:

  1. Make sure both parties have each other's BBM PIN or contact details.
  2. Ensure that you and your recipient are connected to a stable network for optimal experience.

Steps to Send Secret Messages on BBM for Android:

Step 1: Launching BBM

Start by launching the BBM app on your Android device. If this is your first time using it, you may be prompted to create a new account or sign in with an existing one.

Step 2: Accessing Contacts and Messaging

Once logged in, locate the 'Contacts' tab at the bottom of the screen. Tap on it to view your list of contacts. Select the contact with whom you wish to send a secret message.

Step 3: Composing the Message

At the bottom of the screen, tap the 'Compose Message' field. Begin typing your message. To make it secret, follow these steps:

  1. Tap and hold the text you have typed until a pop-up menu appears.
  2. Select 'Hide Text'. This will replace the hidden text with asterisks (*) or dots (...).

Step 4: Sending the Message

After composing your secret message, tap on the paper plane icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen to send it. The recipient will receive a message with hidden text which they can reveal by tapping and holding the text.

And that's it! You have successfully sent a secret message using BBM on your Android device. Remember, this feature adds an extra layer of security but should not be relied upon for confidential business communications or sensitive data exchange without additional encryption methods. Happy messaging!
