Five Shortcuts to Customize Your Taskbar in Windows 10

The taskbar in Windows 10 is more than just a place to pin your frequently used applications. With a few simple customizations, you can make it work smarter for you and save time. Here are five shortcuts to help you get started:

1. Pin Frequently Used Apps

To pin an app to the taskbar, right-click on its icon in the Start menu or in the file explorer, and select Pin to taskbar. This will add a shortcut to the app directly on the taskbar, allowing you to access it with just one click.

2. Use Keyboard Shortcuts

Pressing Win + Tab opens the Task View, where you can see all open windows and quickly switch between them. Additionally, Win + number shortcuts (where number corresponds to the position of the app in the taskbar) allow you to quickly open specific apps.

3. Group Similar Apps Together

To group similar apps together, drag and drop one app's taskbar icon onto another. This will create a group, and all related apps will be placed within it. You can expand or collapse the group by clicking on its title.

4. Use the Notification Area

The notification area (also called the system tray) is located at the right end of the taskbar. It contains icons for various system components and installed applications, such as the clock, network connections, and Action Center. You can customize which icons appear in the notification area by right-clicking on an empty space and selecting Customize notifications.

5. Use Taskbar Overflow

When you have too many pinned apps on the taskbar, some icons may be hidden. To view all your pinned apps, click on the arrow pointing to the right at the bottom of the taskbar. This will open the Taskbar overflow window, where you can access all your pinned apps and select the one you need.

Customizing your Windows 10 taskbar with these shortcuts not only makes it more visually appealing but also helps you save time by providing quicker access to frequently used applications and system features. Try these tips today and enjoy a more productive workflow!
