How to Create a Private Blog in Blogger

Blogger, a popular free blogging platform owned by Google, is known for its simplicity and ease of use. However, one feature that is not immediately apparent is the ability to create a private blog, where only selected individuals can view your content. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to create a private blog in Blogger.

Prerequisites

  • A Google Account
  • Access to the Blogger platform

Steps to Create a Private Blog in Blogger

  1. Sign in to Blogger Visit blogger.com and sign in using your Google account credentials.

  2. Create a New Blog or Use an Existing One If you don't have a blog yet, click on the "New Blog" button and follow the prompts to create a new blog. If you already have a blog, go to the Blogger dashboard and select the blog you want to make private.

  3. Go to Settings In your blog's dashboard, locate and click on the "Settings" tab in the left sidebar.

  4. Edit Your Blog's Basic Settings Scroll down to the "Post settings" section and change the "Who can post?" dropdown menu to "Only authorized users."

  5. Add Members Go back to the dashboard and click on the "Users" tab in the left sidebar. Here, you can add new members by entering their email addresses in the "Add a new user" field and clicking the "Add User" button. These users will receive an invitation email to join your blog as an editor or an author.

  6. Edit Post Permissions Go back to the "Settings" tab, scroll down to the "Post settings" section, and change the "Who can view?" dropdown menu to "Only these authors." Then, select the users you've added in the previous step from the list.

  7. Save Your Changes Don't forget to click on the "Save Settings" button at the bottom of the page to save all your changes and make your blog private.

Now, only the users you've invited will be able to view the content on your private blog. Happy blogging!
