How to Send Google Maps Navigation from Desktop to iPhone

Google Maps is an essential tool for navigation, whether you're using it on your desktop or on the go with your iPhone. If you've planned a route on Google Maps on your desktop and want to send it to your iPhone for turn-by-turn navigation, follow these simple steps:

Prerequisites

Before we begin, ensure that you have the following:

  1. A computer with internet access.
  2. Google Account.
  3. Google Maps installed on both your desktop and iPhone.
  4. An active data connection on your iPhone (Wi-Fi or mobile data).

Steps to Send Navigation from Desktop to iPhone

Step 1: Save Your Route

First, save the directions or route that you've planned in Google Maps on your desktop by clicking the 'Save' button located at the left side of the address bar (for directions) or at the bottom right corner of the map (for a location). Name it appropriately for easy identification.

Step 2: Access Your Saved Directions or Places

To access your saved items, click on 'Your places' located at the left sidebar and select the category 'Saved.' Find the directions or place you want to send and right-click on it. Choose 'Get link to share.'

Step 3: Copy the Shared Link

Once you've clicked 'Get link to share,' a pop-up window will appear with a URL containing your saved directions or place. Copy this link using Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac).

Step 4: Send the Link to Your iPhone via Email or Google Maps

There are two ways to send the link from your desktop to your iPhone:

Option 1: Send it via Email

Compose a new email and paste the copied URL into the body of the message. Send it to yourself with an easily recognizable subject line.

Option 2: Send it via Google Maps on Desktop

Alternatively, you can send the link directly within Google Maps by clicking the 'Share or embed map' option at the bottom right corner of the map after selecting your saved place or directions. Choose the 'Get link' tab and copy the generated link for sharing.

Step 5: Access the Sent Link on Your iPhone

Open your email client (for Option 1) or Google Maps app (for Option 2) on your iPhone, find the sent link, and tap it to open the directions in Google Maps.

Step 6: Start Navigation

Once you've opened the directions on your iPhone, tap 'Start' to begin navigation and follow the route to your destination.

That's it! With these steps, you can easily send navigational information from Google Maps on your desktop to your iPhone for turn-by-turn directions on the go. Happy navigating!
