How to Make Chrome and Firefox Open Websites with One Click

If you frequently visit certain websites, opening a new tab in your preferred web browser (Chrome or Firefox) and typing in the URL can be time-consuming. Here's a simple trick that will allow you to open those websites with just one click: creating shortcuts!

Creating Shortcuts for Chrome

  1. Right-click on your desktop or an empty space in your bookmarks bar.
  2. Select Create Shortcut. A dialog box appears, allowing you to name the shortcut.
  3. Enter a descriptive name and click Create.
  4. Right-click on the newly created shortcut and select Properties.
  5. In the Address (URL) field, paste the URL of the website you want to open quickly. For example: https://example.com.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.

Now, whenever you double-click this shortcut or press its designated keyboard shortcut (assigned under Properties > Shortkey), Chrome will open a new tab with the specified website loaded!

Creating Shortcuts for Firefox

  1. Right-click on your desktop or an empty space in the bookmarks toolbar.
  2. Select Bookmark This Page. A dialog box appears, allowing you to name and save the bookmark.
  3. Go back to your bookmarks by clicking on the star icon (or press Ctrl+B).
  4. Right-click on the newly created bookmark and select Properties.
  5. In the Location field, paste the URL of the website you want to open quickly. For example: https://example.com.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.

Now, whenever you press Ctrl+O (or another keyboard shortcut if already assigned), Firefox will open a new tab with the specified website loaded!

Conclusion

With this simple trick, opening your favorite websites in Chrome or Firefox becomes faster than ever before - all it takes is one click or a few keystrokes! Try creating shortcuts for your most visited sites and enjoy increased productivity. Happy surfing!
