Two Ways to Lock 4G Network on an Android Smartphone

If you're an Android user who relies heavily on a stable and fast internet connection, you might have encountered situations where your phone switches between 4G and other networks, affecting your browsing experience. In such cases, locking the 4G network can be beneficial. In this post, we will explore two effective methods to lock the 4G network on an Android smartphone.

Method 1: Using Settings

  1. Open the Settings app. Swipe down from the top of your screen and tap on the Settings icon.
  2. Go to Wireless & Networks. Scroll down and tap on the Wireless & networks or Connections option, depending on your device's UI.
  3. Select Mobile Networks. Tap on Mobile networks.
  4. Find Preferred network type. Look for the Preferred network type setting and select LTE/4G (or 4G) only. This will force your phone to use the 4G network whenever it's available, and not switch to other networks.

Method 2: Using a Third-party App

If the first method doesn't work or you prefer using an app, there are several third-party apps that can help you lock the 4G network on your Android device. One popular app is 3G Data Switch. Here's how to use it:

  1. Download and install the app. Go to the Google Play Store, search for "3G Data Switch", and download the free version. Install it on your phone.
  2. Open the app. Tap on the 3G Data Switch icon in your apps list.
  3. Lock 4G network. In the app interface, toggle the switch next to Enable 4G or LTE. Now, your phone will only use the 4G network and won't switch to other networks.

By following either of these methods, you can lock the 4G network on your Android smartphone and enjoy a more stable browsing experience. Remember that using the 4G network exclusively may increase your data usage and affect battery life.
