Apple named macOS 10.14 with the name Mojave. Giving the name is somewhat different from the name of the previous macOS operating system. Apple is known to use the name of mountains in California for the name of macOS.
To note, Mojave is a desert name located in Southern California, Northern California, Southwest Utah, South Nevada and Northwest Arizona. As for why Apple chose Mojave as a new name macOS is also accompanied by a strong reason.
Presented by SVP Software Engineering Apple Craig Federighi, the natural beauty of Mojave inspired Apple in designing its operating system tebrarunya.
"Mojave that if the night is very beautiful, this is what inspired us to design new features macOS," said Craig in his keynotes at WWDC 2018.
One of the new features that steal attention is Dark Mode. Yes, in this feature, the macOS display will turn dark, from the dock, task bar, to the application part. This view is claimed to make the user experience comfortable at night.
Another feature is the look of the Mac App Store. This macos app store is changing completely with an interface similar to the App Store on iOS. More minimalist and easier application exploration.
In addition, Apple also presents new applications such as Apple News, Voice Memos, Home and Stocks. MacOS Mojave also presents Stacks, a feature that brings the desktop to a clutter.
MacOS Mojave also put forward security features. In this case, users can more easily control what kind of applications can access information and hardware. In fact, the Safari browser also has a new social media blocker feature that keeps track of users.
For Finder also comes with View Galery feature to facilitate users to scroll preview file. Another feature that is not less interesting is Dynamic Desktop. In this feature, Mojave macOS can display Live Wallpaper.
MacOS Mojave itself will be available in September 2018. For the developer version itself is available starting from today.
